This is a list of members of the New South Wales Legislative Council, as elected at the 1995 and 1999 state elections. Members of the Legislative Council serve eight-year terms, so while half the members of this parliament faced re-election at the 2003 election, the remainder faced re-election in 2007. : Labor MLC Jeff Shaw resigned on 4 July 2000. Amanda Fazio was appointed to the resulting casual vacancy on 30 August. : National Party MLC Richard Bull resigned on 18 August 2000. Rick Colless was appointed to the resulting casual vacancy on 30 August. : Liberal MLC John Hannaford resigned on 10 October 2000. Greg Pearce was appointed to the resulting casual vacancy on 1 November. : Labor MLC Andy Manson resigned on 27 October 2000. Ian West was appointed to the resulting casual vacancy on 1 November 2000. : David Oldfield was elected as a One Nation member, but was expelled from the party in October 2000.
